TikTok Influencer Arrested in Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot

A shocking murder-for-hire case involving a popular TikTok influencer has surfaced in California after authorities arrested 24-year-old Gabriela “Gabbie” Gonzalez at the California Redwood Coast–Humboldt County Airport in McKinleyville. Prosecutors allege Gonzalez was part of a yearslong conspiracy targeting former Why Don’t We singer Jack Avery, who is also the father of her child.

According to court documents, Gonzalez, along with her father, Francisco Gonzalez, 59, and her former boyfriend,d Kai Faron Cordrey, 26, were charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation of murder. Investigators claim the trio coordinated an elaborate plan that stretched across multiple states and involved cryptocurrency transactions and dark web communications.

Authorities allege the suspects attempted to hire someone to kill Avery and even discussed ways to make the murder appear accidental. Prosecutors say the conspiracy was carefully planned over an extended period and included secret online communications intended to conceal their identities.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the case as deeply disturbing and revealed that the investigation initially began with the FBI before being transferred to local prosecutors. Hochman stated that the defendants allegedly “went to great lengths” to arrange the killing and emphasised the unusual role Gonzalez’s father allegedly played in assisting the plot.

“Most fathers raise their children to respect the law,” Hochman said in a public statement, “but here we have a dad who allegedly helped his daughter and her boyfriend break the law in the most sinister way imaginable.”

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident at the Arcata-Eureka Airport on Saturday. Officials said local law enforcement worked closely with Los Angeles County investigators to carry out the arrest operation.

The case has drawn significant attention online due to Gonzalez’s social media presence on TikTok and Avery’s popularity as a former member of the boy band Why Don’t We. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the alleged murder-for-hire arrangements or the identity of any intended hired killer.

If convicted, the defendants could face severe prison sentences under California law. The investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors continue reviewing digital evidence, financial transactions, and communications connected to the alleged conspiracy.
