PPU UG Admission 2026: First Merit List Out; Over 68,000 Students Allotted Seats

Patna: Patliputra University (PPU), Patna has officially released its first undergraduate (UG) merit list for the 2026–2030 academic session under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), marking the beginning of the admission process for thousands of aspirants across Bihar.

According to university officials, a total of 87,517 candidates had registered for UG admissions this year, out of which 68,499 students have been allotted seats in the first merit list. This accounts for nearly 78.26% of total applicants, reflecting a strong allocation rate in the initial round of admissions.

Admission Process Begins Across Streams

The seat allotment covers major undergraduate streams including Arts, Science, and Commerce, distributed across PPU’s constituent and affiliated colleges. The university stated that the allocation has been done based on merit, reservation rules, and seat availability across different institutions.

With the release of the first merit list, the admission process has officially entered its next phase, where selected candidates must complete enrollment formalities within the given timeline.

Verification and Fee Payment Through Samarth Portal

Students whose names appear in the merit list are required to complete document verification and fee payment through the Samarth admission portal. The university has made it mandatory for all selected candidates to complete the process online, followed by physical verification of documents at allotted colleges.

Authorities have clearly stated that failure to complete the admission process within the deadline will result in cancellation of the allotted seat, which may then be offered to candidates in the next round of counselling.

Enrollment Deadline Set for June 22

The university has fixed June 22, 2026 as the last date for completing enrollment under the first merit list. Students are advised to complete all required formalities well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues on the portal.

Officials have also urged students to carefully check their allotment details, confirm college preferences, and ensure that all required documents are in order before visiting their respective institutions.

Second Merit List to Be Released on June 24

Following the completion of the first round of admissions, PPU will release the second merit list on June 24, 2026, to fill remaining vacant seats across various colleges and courses.

The second list is expected to accommodate students who were either not selected in the first round or those who may upgrade their options based on seat availability.

Strong Response from Applicants This Year

The university has witnessed a significant response during the admission cycle, with over 87,000 applications submitted for undergraduate courses. Education officials have noted that the high number of applicants highlights the growing demand for higher education at Patliputra University and its affiliated institutions.

The large-scale participation has also made the merit-based selection process highly competitive, especially in popular subjects across arts and science streams.

Students Advised to Stay Updated

University authorities have advised students to regularly check official notifications on the PPU website and the Samarth portal for updates regarding admission schedules, document requirements, and counselling procedures.

Candidates are also encouraged to keep their login credentials ready and ensure timely submission of fees and documents to secure their admission.

With the release of the first merit list, Patliputra University has officially kicked off the UG admission process for the 2026–2030 academic session. As thousands of students begin their enrollment journey, the next few days will be crucial in finalizing admissions and preparing for the upcoming academic year.
