Reality TV star Nicole Polizzi, widely known as “Snooki” from Jersey Shore, has revealed that she will undergo a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with stage 1 Cervical cancer.

The diagnosis came after she delayed her routine Pap smear screenings for over a year—something she now openly regrets. Recalling the moment she received the news, Polizzi shared that she broke down emotionally, fearing the worst.

Early Detection Brings Relief

Following additional medical tests, doctors confirmed that the cancer has not spread. With surgery planned in the coming months, Polizzi is expected to make a full recovery and will not require further treatment.

Despite the initial fear, she remains optimistic. She acknowledged that while the diagnosis was frightening, it was not the worst-case scenario and is something she can overcome.

Missed Screenings and Warning Signs

For several years, Polizzi had been receiving abnormal Pap smear results that showed precancerous cells. Her doctor advised more frequent screenings every six months instead of the standard three-year interval.

However, due to discomfort during the exams, she postponed visits for nearly a year and a half. She admitted that she was aware of the risks but avoided follow-ups, hoping the issue would resolve on its own.

Turning Point and Diagnosis

After repeated reminders from her doctor throughout 2025, she finally returned for testing. The results revealed a significant increase in precancerous cells. Further procedures, including a colposcopy and biopsy, confirmed the presence of severe cancerous cells that could have spread if left untreated.

Emotional Impact and Family Support

Beyond the physical challenges, Polizzi described the emotional toll as the most difficult part—especially when explaining her condition to her children. Her older kids, aware of what cancer means, were frightened, asking if she was going to die. She reassured them that she would be okay.

Her husband, Jionni LaValle, along with friends and family, has been a strong support system throughout her journey. She expressed gratitude for the overwhelming care and encouragement she has received during this time.
