Senior Assistant Shivakumar Under Scanner After Simultaneous Searches Across Multiple Locations
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials carried out large-scale surprise raids in Kakinada on a senior assistant working at the District Collectorate, exposing what is suspected to be a major case of disproportionate assets worth several crores of rupees.
The accused, identified as Shivakumar, is alleged to have accumulated wealth far beyond his known sources of income. Acting on credible intelligence and multiple complaints, ACB teams launched coordinated searches across his residence, office, and properties linked to his family members on Friday morning.
Coordinated Raids Across Four Locations in Kakinada
In a meticulously planned operation, ACB officials conducted simultaneous inspections at four key locations:
- Shivakumar’s residence at SRMT Apartment, Sarpavaram, Kakinada
- His official seat and office chamber at the District Collectorate
- His relatives’ houses in Ramanayyapet
- Additional premises in Cheediga and Tilak Veedhi areas
Officials reportedly examined documents, property records, bank details, and electronic devices during the searches, which continued for several hours.
Crores in Real Estate Assets Unearthed
Preliminary findings indicate that a significant portion of the alleged illegal wealth has been invested in real estate, much of it registered in the names of Shivakumar’s family members, especially his wife.
Key properties identified include:
- A luxury triple-bedroom flat worth ₹1.24 crore in SRMT Apartments, Kakinada
- A four-bedroom premium flat worth ₹1.77 crore in the same apartment complex, registered in his wife’s name
- A triple-bedroom flat worth ₹1.34 crore in Viva City Apartments, Kondapur, Hyderabad (Ranga Reddy district)
- A 375 sq. yard vacant plot worth ₹1.20 crore at Ramaraopet, Kakinada
- 1.082 acres of agricultural land worth ₹18.40 lakh in Kotapadu, Rangampet mandal
- Another 0.543 acres of land worth ₹9.24 lakh in the same region
Officials suspect that these assets may include benami holdings and are currently verifying ownership records and financial trails.
Luxury Vehicles Add to Allegations
The investigation also uncovered multiple high-end vehicles registered in the names of Shivakumar and his family:
- Toyota Fortuner SUV worth ₹41.73 lakh (wife’s name)
- Mahindra XEV electric vehicle worth ₹30 lakh (Shivakumar’s name)
- Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV worth ₹27 lakh (Shivakumar’s name)
The presence of multiple luxury vehicles has further strengthened suspicions of unaccounted income sources.
Gold, Cash and High-Value Electronics Seized
During the searches, officials reportedly recovered a significant amount of movable assets, including:
- Around 700 grams of gold jewellery
- Approximately ₹20,000 in cash
- High-end household appliances and electronic gadgets worth ₹27.12 lakh
- A Samsung Fold smartphone valued at ₹1.50 lakh
- A premium laptop worth ₹1.70 lakh
Officials said digital devices and documents will be forensically examined to trace financial transactions and hidden investments.
Probe Expands to Benami Assets and Bank Accounts
ACB officials have stated that the investigation is still in progress and is likely to widen further. Teams are currently examining:
- Bank lockers and accounts
- Property registration records
- Possible benami transactions
- Digital financial trails and investments
Authorities believe the total value of assets could increase significantly once the full audit is completed.
Public Reaction and Ongoing Investigation
The exposure of such large-scale assets linked to a government employee has triggered widespread discussion in local administrative circles. Officials described the case as a significant instance of suspected corruption and misuse of public office.
The ACB is expected to release a detailed official statement after completing the valuation and verification of all seized and identified properties.
