Vinesh Phogat Makes Her Mark: Qualifies for Finals

She is the first Indian woman to reach into finals in Wrestling at the Paris Olympics 2024. She makes India Proud with her gameplay. She secured 5-0 in the final over Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the 50 kg category in Paris on Tuesday. She secured 5-0 in the semi-finals.

Vinesh scored 1-0 at the end of the first period. In the second period, Vinesh scored four points. She secured her place in the semifinals with two standout victories.

She is the first Indian wrestler to reach finals and she is also the first woman to reach Finals in women’s wrestling. 

Vinesh in her career, won several achievements, including three Commonwealth Games (2014, 2018, and 2022), two bronze medals in world championships, and gold and silver medals in 2018 and 2014 at the Asian Games.

After her win in Wrestling, she became emotional and had done video call with her mother. She guaranteeing herself at least a silver medal in the finals.

The final is scheduled for today. India expecting a gold medal in Wrestling from Vinesh Phogat. If she wins the medal, she becomes the first woman to win in the Wrestling finals. In finals, she competes against America’s S. Hildebrandt.
