Chopra's Single Shot Sensation: Straight to Finals

India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra qualified for the finals in the men’s javelin throw event in the first throw on August 6, Tuesday. He started throwing with a monstrous 89.34-meter throw right at the start. He never threw again as he threw in the first attempt it crossed 84 meters which was a spot. 

 He threw one and it was done. He earned automatic qualification by crossing 84 meters spot. He is in first place for throwing the javelin with a distance of 89.34m which was done yesterday. Other athletes who qualified for finals are A. Peters from Grenada, A. Nadeem from Pakistan, L.M. da Silva from Brazil, A. Mardare from the Republic of Moldova, and L. Etelatalo from Finland.

 India is very proud that it qualified for just one throw in the group B qualification round. India is hoping gold medal from Neeraj Chopra. He created a remarkable journey that qualified for finals in just one throw.

Neeraj won the gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with an 87.58m throw. Now he is competing in his Second Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra is on a quest to become the fifth man in Olympic history to defend his javelin gold and the first Indian to win two gold medals in Individual Olympic events.

 The final match is scheduled for August 8, Thursday.
