Peddi Box Office Collection Day 2 Live Update: Ram Charan Starrer Crosses ₹150 Crore Worldwide in 3 Days

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s much-anticipated film Peddi has continued its strong run at the box office, crossing the impressive ₹150 crore mark in worldwide gross collections within just three days of release. Despite a dip on Day 2, the film remains one of the fastest-growing commercial successes of the year.

Strong Opening Sets the Tone

The film began its box office journey on a powerful note. Peddi earned ₹18.50 crore from premiere shows on Wednesday, followed by a solid ₹51 crore on its first official day (Thursday). The momentum carried into the opening weekend, although Day 2 (Friday) saw a drop of around 47%, bringing in ₹26.90 crore.

With these numbers, the film’s total India net collection has reached approximately ₹96.40 crore, while the India gross stands at ₹114.49 crore. Including overseas earnings of around ₹36 crore, the worldwide gross has climbed to ₹150.49 crore in just three days.

Occupancy Trends Show Weekend Recovery

Despite the Friday dip, Peddi showed encouraging occupancy trends, especially toward the weekend. The film recorded an overall Saturday occupancy of 48.81%, indicating steady audience interest.

  • Morning shows: 29.85%
  • Afternoon shows: 48.15%
  • Evening shows: 57.08%
  • Night shows: 60.15%

The rising occupancy throughout the day suggests positive word-of-mouth and stronger weekend turnout, which could help stabilise collections further.

Comparison With Ram Charan’s Previous Films

Industry trackers note that Peddi is performing significantly better than Ram Charan’s previous release Game Changer (2025), which collected around ₹72.60 crore net in India within its first two days. However, it still trails behind the massive benchmark set by RRR, which earned a staggering ₹223 crore worldwide on its opening day alone.

Mixed Audience Reactions and Controversy

While the film continues to attract audiences to theatres, it has also sparked debate over certain scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor’s character. A section of viewers, particularly women, expressed concern that some sequences blur the line between playful romance and harassment, raising questions about consent portrayal.

Responding to the criticism, director Buchi Babu Sana acknowledged the feedback and admitted that certain portions did not land as intended. Speaking in an interview, he said the intention was to present a light-hearted romantic track between the lead pair, but accepted that audience interpretation differed. He also assured that future storytelling would be handled with greater sensitivity.

Outlook

With strong opening figures and improving weekend occupancy, Peddi is expected to maintain steady momentum in the coming days. However, its long-term performance will depend on how well it sustains audience interest amid competition and ongoing discussions around its content.
