Friendship Day: A Celebration of Loyalty and Laughter

In 2024, it is observed that Friendship Day is on August 04, 2024. Normally celebrated on the first Sunday of August. But it is celebrated on July 30 internationally.

History of friendship:

The Friendship Day concept was introduced by the founder of Hallmark Cards, Joyce Hall in 1958. The concept of Friendship Day was born when an individual sought to establish a dedicated day for people to commemorate their friendships and express gratitude towards their friends. This idea rapidly gained traction, culminating in the widespread adoption and celebration of Friendship Day.

Internationally, it was recognized as July 30 in 1998. Although an official date is designated for Friendship Day, several countries, including the United States, have chosen to honor the spirit of friendship on the first Sunday of August, making it a day of festivity and appreciation.

Usually, we see social gatherings on Friendship Day, they go on trips, to movies, restaurants, or wherever they want. They go through the whole day with friends.
