BMW F 450 GS Bookings Temporarily Paused in India Amid Rising Demand
BMW Motorrad India has reportedly put a temporary hold on bookings for the highly anticipated BMW F 450 GS adventure motorcycle due to overwhelming demand across the country. While the company has not officially announced the suspension, dealer sources suggest that bookings may reopen between September and October 2026.
The BMW F 450 GS has generated significant interest among adventure touring enthusiasts since its launch in April 2026. Designed as the successor to the popular G 310 GS, the motorcycle quickly attracted buyers looking for a capable mid-size adventure bike with premium features and strong touring capabilities.
According to reports, the waiting period for the F 450 GS has already exceeded six months in several regions. In major metropolitan cities such as Mumbai and Bengaluru, some dealerships are reportedly quoting delivery timelines of nearly one year. The strong demand has apparently prompted BMW to temporarily pause new bookings until it can manage existing orders more efficiently.
The BMW F 450 GS is offered in three variants – Base, Exclusive, and GS Trophy. Prices start at Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive option in the growing adventure motorcycle segment.
Powering the motorcycle is an all-new 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 48 BHP at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of peak torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, offering a balance of performance and touring comfort for both on-road and off-road riding.
The F 450 GS is manufactured at TVS Motor Company's production facility in Hosur, near Bengaluru, highlighting the collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS in producing premium motorcycles for the Indian and global markets.
With demand continuing to outpace supply, the BMW F 450 GS has emerged as one of the most sought-after adventure motorcycles in India. Prospective buyers may have to wait until the next booking window opens later this year, while existing customers eagerly await the commencement of deliveries.
