Hindustan Zinc Launches Rajasthan’s Largest Electric Bus Fleet at Udaipur Facility
Hindustan Zinc Limited has introduced Rajasthan’s first and largest electric bus fleet for employee transportation at its Zinc Smelter plant in Udaipur (Debari). This move marks a major milestone in the company’s sustainability and decarbonisation efforts.
The initiative has been implemented in collaboration with Enviiiro Wheels Mobility Pvt. Ltd., aiming to transform industrial transportation with eco-friendly alternatives.
41 Electric Buses to Replace Diesel Fleet
As part of a phased rollout, the company will deploy 41 electric buses across its Rajasthan operations. These buses will gradually replace traditional diesel-powered vehicles used for employee commuting, reducing dependency on fossil fuels.
Significant Cut in Carbon Emissions
The transition to electric mobility is expected to cut over 11,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions during the contract period. This aligns with the company’s long-term environmental goals, which include:
