Air Marshal A.P. Kapoor, Vice Chief of Air Staff, praised the Rafale fighter jet as the standout performer of Operation Sindoor and stressed the immediate need for the Indian Air Force to strengthen its fleet with more modern combat aircraft.
Speaking at a recent event, Air Marshal Kapoor highlighted the crucial role played by the Rafale jets during the operation, praising their advanced capabilities, precision strike power, and reliability in complex combat scenarios. He noted that modern multi-role fighter aircraft are essential to maintain air superiority and strengthen India’s defence preparedness.
The IAF is actively looking to expand its fleet by inducting new-generation multi-role fighter aircraft to enhance operational readiness and address emerging security challenges. Air Marshal Kapoor underlined that the timely induction of advanced platforms is critical to maintaining a robust and technologically superior air force.
He also announced that the Indian Air Force will conduct the high-profile Vayu Shakti exercise at the Pokhran range later this month. The exercise will showcase the IAF’s air assets, combat readiness, and firepower, featuring fighter jets, transport aircraft, helicopters, and precision-guided munitions.
The upcoming exercise is expected to demonstrate the IAF’s operational capabilities and serve as a strong message of India’s air power and defence strength.
