Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has shown interest in expanding its presence in India by opening a sales and service centre in Hyderabad, according to the Telangana government.

The development was discussed during a meeting between Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu and representatives from Tesla India. During the interaction, Tesla executives reportedly expressed their intention to begin operations in Hyderabad as part of the company’s expansion plans in the country.

The Telangana government shared the update through an official post on X, highlighting the state’s continued efforts to attract global technology and automobile companies.

If established, the proposed Tesla facility in Hyderabad is expected to strengthen the city’s growing electric vehicle ecosystem and improve customer support services for Tesla buyers in the region.

Hyderabad has increasingly become a preferred destination for global companies due to its strong infrastructure, technology ecosystem, and investor-friendly policies. Tesla’s interest in setting up operations in the city could further boost Telangana’s position in India’s electric mobility sector.
