LPG Booking Rules Update: Possible Changes from May 1 – What Customers Should Know

New Delhi: Ongoing disruptions in global energy markets, triggered by the West Asia conflict since late February, have significantly impacted LPG prices in India. As a result, domestic consumers are facing rising costs and potential changes in booking and delivery rules starting May 1.

In recent months, oil marketing companies have steadily increased LPG cylinder prices. The cost of a domestic 14.2 kg cylinder has risen by around ₹60 nationwide since the crisis began. Meanwhile, commercial 19 kg cylinders have seen multiple hikes within a short period.

In April 2026 alone, commercial LPG cylinder prices increased by ₹196 to ₹218 in metro cities. This followed earlier hikes of ₹114.5 on March 7 and ₹28–₹31 on March 1. With May approaching, further price revisions are expected.

Additionally, new LPG booking and delivery guidelines may be introduced to manage supply and demand more efficiently. Consumers are advised to stay updated on official announcements from oil companies and the government to avoid inconvenience.
