Petrol and Diesel Prices on May 7, 2026: Check Latest Fuel Rates in Major Indian Cities

Petrol and diesel prices remained a key concern for consumers on May 7, 2026, amid ongoing speculation about potential fuel price hikes linked to fluctuations in global crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

In response to rising concerns, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued an update assuring citizens that fuel supplies across the country remain stable. The government stated that adequate measures are being taken to maintain the uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and LPG despite the evolving international situation.

According to the ministry, essential domestic fuel supplies, including Domestic LPG, Domestic PNG, and CNG for transportation, are currently being maintained at full capacity. Authorities also confirmed that priority supply arrangements have been made for critical sectors such as hospitals, educational institutions, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, automobile manufacturing, and steel industries.

The government further noted that the supply of 5 kg free trade LPG cylinders for migrant workers has been doubled based on average daily distribution levels recorded earlier in March 2026.

Consumers across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, are closely monitoring daily fuel price revisions as crude oil prices continue to fluctuate in the international market. While no major nationwide hike has been officially announced yet, market watchers remain cautious about possible changes in the coming days.

Fuel prices in India are revised daily by oil marketing companies based on global crude oil trends, currency exchange rates, taxes, and transportation costs.
