Ghaziabad, February 28, 2026: A 55-year-old businessman, Saleem Wastik, was critically injured after being attacked by two men wearing helmets at his office in Ali Garden, Loni. The victim, known for sharing videos on religious practices and questioning orthodox ideas on social media, was rushed to a local hospital before being referred to GTB Hospital in Delhi for urgent medical attention.

Incident Details

According to Loni ACP Siddharth Gautam, the attack occurred around 6 a.m. on Friday. Neighbours informed the police after finding Wastik lying in a pool of blood in his office. The assailants reportedly arrived on a motorcycle, parked outside the office, and entered wearing helmets. The attackers asked children nearby to leave before carrying out the stabbing.

Wastik sustained multiple knife injuries to his abdomen and throat and remains in critical condition.

Investigation and FIR

The police have registered an FIR against five people in connection with the attack. Preliminary investigations suggest that the assault may be linked to Wastik’s public views and social media activity. The police are examining CCTV footage and eyewitness statements to identify the perpetrators.
