All of Us Are Dead S2 Begins Filming, New Cast Joins
Netflix has officially announced that production has begun on the much-anticipated second season of its Korean zombie thriller series, All of Us Are Dead. Following its massive global success, the show is set to return with a bigger scope, new cast members, and more terrifying twists.
Global Hit Returns
First released in January 2022, All of Us Are Dead quickly became a global sensation. Adapted from the popular webtoon by Joo Dong-geun, the series gained widespread acclaim for its gripping storyline, emotional depth, and high production quality. Set in a high school where a zombie virus breaks out, the story followed a group of students struggling to survive as chaos unfolded around them. The show amassed over 560 million viewing hours in its first 28 days, cementing its place as one of Netflix’s biggest non-English hits.
Returning Cast and New Characters
Season 2 will see the return of key cast members, including Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon, who portrayed the core group of students in the first season. They will reprise their roles as survivors in a world still reeling from the deadly outbreak.
Joining the cast for the new season are Lee Min-jae, Yoon Ga-i, and Squid Game actors Kim Si-eun and Roh Jae-won. These new characters will introduce fresh perspectives and challenges as the story expands beyond the original school setting.
A Border Outbreak
According to Netflix’s announcement, season two will explore the spread of the zombie virus beyond Hyosan, as it reaches the capital city of Seoul. The new storyline will follow both returning characters and new survivors who must confront the growing threat in a more expansive and dangerous world.
The official logline teases a darker, more intense chapter where survival becomes even more uncertain, and the true nature of the virus begins to unravel.
What to Expect
Fans can expect heightened suspense, more action-packed sequences, and deeper character arcs as the show delves into the societal and emotional aftermath of a nationwide outbreak. With production now underway, Netflix is expected to reveal more details, including a release date, in the coming months.
