JEE Advanced 2026 Results: Shubham Kumar Secures AIR 1
IIT Roorkee announced JEE Advanced 2026 results with Shubham Kumar securing AIR 1 and Arohi Deshpande emerging as the female topper this year.
IIT Roorkee has officially declared the JEE Advanced 2026 results, with Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone achieving All India Rank (AIR) 1. Scoring an outstanding 330 out of 360 marks, Shubham emerged as the highest scorer in one of the country’s most competitive engineering entrance examinations.
Originally from Bihar, Shubham had also performed exceptionally well in JEE Main 2026, where he secured AIR 6. His consistent achievements in both examinations have earned widespread appreciation from students, teachers, and academic institutions nationwide.
In the female category, Arohi Deshpande secured the top position, becoming the female topper of JEE Advanced 2026. Her success has motivated many aspiring engineering students, especially young women preparing for competitive exams.
The IIT Delhi zone recorded an exceptional performance this year, with Kabir Chhillar and Jatain Chahar securing AIR 2 and AIR 3, respectively. Their achievements further highlighted the zone’s strong academic preparation and competitive environment.
As per official statistics shared by IIT Roorkee, 1,87,389 candidates registered for JEE Advanced 2026. Out of these, 1,79,694 students appeared for both examination papers conducted on May 17, 2026. A total of 56,880 candidates qualified for the examination, including 10,107 female candidates.
JEE Advanced is considered one of India’s most challenging entrance tests and acts as the primary gateway for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Every year, lakhs of students compete for admission to these top engineering institutions.
After the declaration of results, successful candidates will now participate in the JoSAA counselling process, which manages seat allocation for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and several other leading engineering colleges across India.
