ABS-CBN Narrows 2025 Losses Amid Growth in Content and Digital Segments

MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN Corp. reduced its financial losses in 2025, supported by stronger earnings from content production and continued cost-cutting efforts, despite a significant decline in its cable and broadband segments.

In a disclosure released Monday, the company reported that its recurring consolidated net loss decreased by 13 per cent, or P588 million, compared to the previous year. Including one-time items, total net loss dropped by 23 per cent to P4.72 billion from P6.09 billion.

The content production and distribution segment posted a recurring net loss of P2.54 billion, reflecting an 11 per cent improvement, as revenues increased by 5 per cent to P12.59 billion. Meanwhile, consumer revenues rose 4 per cent to P5.46 billion, driven by strong performance in films, music, and live events, including BINI’s multi-city world tour.

However, overall consolidated revenue declined by 9 per cent to P15.85 billion. This was largely due to a sharp 39 per cent drop in cable TV and broadband revenues, which fell to P3.27 billion.

On a positive note, digital operations continued to perform well. Direct-to-consumer revenues reached a record P1.03 billion, while direct advertising sales grew by 23 per cent to P842 million.

Across the organisation, ABS-CBN reduced operating expenses by 18 per cent, equivalent to P4.5 billion, as part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations while investing in content and events businesses.
