The 15th of August, every year, comes with its element of pride and patriotism since it is the anniversary of the day that India hoisted its tricolor flag to the victory of freedom and self-rule. This year it is the 78th Independence Day. The 75th Independence Day was done very well. That is named Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It is a tri-color flag with colors orange, white, and green.
Indians celebrate Independence Day annually on August 15. This year it is on Thursday. Indians gained independence from the Britishers in 1947 on August 15. That is why it is named as Independence Day.
The theme for this Independence Day is Viksit Bharat or Developed India announced by the government of India. It symbolizes the 2047 Independence Day as Developed Nation it is the government's commitment to change India. 2047 Independence Day will be the 100th Independence Day for India.
The journey of India to independence was long, laborious, and fought with constant struggles, sacrifices, and unflinching determination. This country remained under British rule for many centuries, whose people were been exploited, oppressed, and their culture erased. But as the 20th century dawned, a sense of nationalism began stirring due to visionaries like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose. Non-violent resistance, civil disobedience, and various fearless acts of activism mobilized the masses against the throttling by the British Empire in India. It was the Quit India Movement, the Salt March, and scores of other protests and uprisings that finally led to the ultimate withdrawal of British forces on August 15, 1947. As the tricolor flag was hoisted, a nation was reborn, its people finally free to forge their destiny with all triumphs and tribulations.
